Numbering 3 million,they are the largest and oldest single group of refugees in the world. They are the Palestinians, who in the Arab-Israeli war of 1948 fled their homes & villages in what is now Israel. In Lebanon, they live in squalid refugee camps, unable to work, discriminated against and unable to return to their homes in Israel.
