Description

Every day, we read much about the degradation of our Earth’s environment especially in Asia: the most populated and economically the fastest growing region of the world. Polluted water and air, disappearing eco-systems, increasing consumption of fossil fuels are a fact of life for billions of people in Asia. But pitted against these challenges are some remarkable people championing environmental protection, fighting negligent industry and complacent governments. They are individuals trying to make a difference. Making a Difference travels to Asia’s largest nations: China, India, and Indonesia to meet some remarkable activists. Among them: In China – a woman known as Auntie Yun is inspiring others. Yun Jianli heads a vibrant non-governmental organization called “Green Han River.” She has mastered the difficulties of dealing with a Communist government suspicious of citizen groups. Documentary produced for PBS.
