Waiting for Justice in Bhopal 08:00, 2003 (Ref: AS03137)

Description

It was perhaps the greatest industrial disaster in the world. At least 2,000 people killed immediately, thousands more sent to premature death. In 1985 a deadly toxic cloud escaped from a chemical plant operated by the company Union Carbide in Bhopal. The American owned firm did make compensation payments – but some victims only received a few hundred dollars. And as we found out, many are still struggling to come to terms with the tragedy.
