insight into the months that follow a devastating
earthquake, such as the recent one in Haiti, we have an
amazing film from China that follows a group of survivors
for more than a year after China’s massive quake in 2008.
The quake killed almost 90,000 people and left more than
5-million homeless. We follow the fortunes of 82-year-old
Mrs Liu who was lucky to survive. Her house and most of
her village – Ping Qiao – was destroyed. Months after the
quake she was still searching among the ruins of her home

as “The Saharan Ghandi” for her strong convictions and
courage. Last month Aminatu Haidar, caused a huge
diplomatic row between Spain and Morocco when she went on
hunger strike for 32-days at Lanzarote airport when the
Moroccan authorities would not allow her to return to
Western Sahara. For more than 20-years Aminatu has been
fighting for independence for Western Sahara, which was
occupied by Morocco after the Spanish and French
colonisation ended in Morocco in 1975...
