HI: Magnetic Heart Surgery 4:00, 2018 (Ref: EU18828)

Description

Magnetic Heart Surgery is a new and futuristic way of performing heart surgery without getting your hands bloody.

Dr Muchtiar Khan is one of only two heart surgeons in the Netherlands performing heart surgery with the click of a mouse.

In this film he operates on a patient using a floppy catheter controlled by magnets operated remotely by a computer. The catheter burns precise spots on the heart to help regulate an irregular heart beat. There is no anaesthetic, no open heart surgery and the patient is awake throughout the operation. We even speak with the patient after the operation to ask her about it.
