  Being Indian
Series for the BBC of 4 episodes x 25-minutes

Being Indian follows the lives of four children from India from widely differing backgrounds. In the eyes of Indian society Biru Mallik, a nine-year-old boy living in a remote poor village in Bihar, is regarded as the lowest in society - an untouchable. He and his family are considered unclean and people to be shunned. But they are known as dhoms and one of their main jobs is to prepare funeral pyres and cremate bodies on the banks of the famous Ganges River, an invaluable service for Indian society.
