Dubai's Sheikh's have
claimed it's the eighth wonder of the world and seen
from space the tree-shaped sand and rock formation
of the Palm Jumeirah looks exactly that. It's just
one of the amazing man-made structures that has
turned Dubai into the fastest growing place on
earth. It has the most luxurious hotel in the world,
the tallest building on Earth, the world's biggest
airport, a covered ski slope in the middle of the
desert and an enormous theme park. But the most
ambitious project is the building of an aritificial
archipelago whose islands have been sculptured to
form various shapes - a palm tree, a world map, a
half moon. Building these islands will increase the
Emirate's coastline from 70-kilometres to over
1,000. Dubai's property speculation and building
fever is astonishing. |
