A powerful film from
Ethiopia in connection with the Somalia Crisis.
Ethiopia feels it has done a big service for the US
in destroying pro-Al Queda Islamic militant rule in
Somalia. The US grants Ethiopia about 270 million
dollars a year and the Ethiopians want a lot more,
considering Iraq gets close to 80 billion dollars
annually and has not wiped out militant groups who
continue their war against US troops. It includes an
exclusive interview with the foreign minister. We
also look at a unique aspect of Ethiopia - its
exotic Christian history and its link to the current
crisis. Islamic Jihadists in Somalia declared a holy
war against Ethiopia because of its ancient
Christian origins. Ethiopia is one of the earliest
countries to have accepted Christianity - 4th
century. Its traditions and prayers have remained
essentially unchanged for 1600 years. |
