They're fleeing from one of the most wartorn regions on earth to a nation itself riven with lawlessness. We have uncovered disturbing new evidence of ill treatment from people smugglers and authorities. The United Nations has warned the situation is a tragedy. It has described the people-trafficking industry as "murder at sea". Yet we have evidence that the international efforts to protect and house the Somali refugees are proving woefully inadequate. They're being robbed and assaulted by locals, rounded up and sent to military camps; and allegations of corruption in the only official UNHCR camp in the region.
