Guantanamo: Trial or Error?
10-minutes, 2006
Ref: 508

We have exclusive and remarkable material of the Guantanamo Bay prison. We were allowed to film inside the prison and were even allowed to film some prisoners - albeit not showing their faces. We also interviewed some of the guards at the centre. But even more remarkably we interviewed Pentagon lawyers defending Guantanamo detainees who are opposing trial in military commissions. America's detention camp at Guantanamo Bay has long been hailed by the Bush Administration as a vital part of its war on terror. Despite a recent Supreme Court ruling that the facility's military tribunal system was illegal, the US president is not willing to let go of it yet. He is still manoeuvring to try the camp's prisoners in military commissions - but faces opposition from senior Democratic and Republican senators.
