We have an exclusive report and interview with Africa’s first woman leader. Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, a Harvard-graduate, became Africa’s first elected woman leader when she became Liberia’s president. Her victory is already reverberating across a continent long dominated by “strong men”. “The door at the highest level has opened,” Mrs Johnson-Sirleaf declared in a rare interview in her bungalow in the capital, Monrovia. “The message I'm getting from women leaders in Africa is that it’s so exciting. There’s no going back. There will be so many of us knocking on that door now you’ve opened it.”
