A Dutch pediatrician, Dr Eduard Verhagen, has admitted to helping to end the lives of four desperately ill babies: in contravention of Dutch law. In an exclusive interview, Dr Verhagen says those deaths represent just a fraction of the babies being killed in the Netherlands every year, because they are in such severe pain. His admission has caused a furore in the medical community: many pediatricians believe infants so young aren't capable of such extreme suffering that they need to be put out of their misery
