China: Pink Dolphin near Extinction

The Chinese White Dolphin is an endangered species best known for the pink tint in its skin. It’s found in the brackish waters where several of Asia’s great rivers meet the sea. The largest such population lives in the mouth of the Pearl River – not far from the massive industrial centers of Guangzhou, Zhuhai, Shenzhen and Hong Kong. We have an update on how the pink dolphin’s chances of survival may be dimming as a new plan for regional development picks up pace.
