North Korea: Embracing Capitalism

North Korea: Embracing Capitalism
8 minutes, 2004
Ref: 410

Despite North Korea’s outward intransigence, there are signs of change in the country. We were given special access to North Korea and saw a number of changes that show the country is becoming more capitalist. We saw roller-blading in Kim Il Sung Square in the capital Pyongyang and visited a new beer factory in which profits are paramount. We also visited an orphanage where the children are still malnourished, but better than a few years ago. It’s a fascinating insight into the changes taking place.
