Think there’s heated debate over same-sex marriage in Europe? In the USA, it’s boiling over. It’s an issue that makes some people uneasy, one that touches deeply held beliefs, disturbing philosophical, religious, and moral assumptions. And plans to legalize same-sex marriage in Canada are adding fuel to the American debate. We went to the USA and spoke with two women who are raising a teenage girl as their daughter and wish to get married, but found it impossible under American law. We also witnessed two American men getting married in Canada because they couldn’t do so in the USA and heard their views. It’s a fierce debate.
