Serbia: The Enemy Within 12 minutes, 2003 Ref: 335
Now, to a story, which has been sidelined by the war in Iraq. It’s an important story which resonates with that war and the west’s involvement in troubled countries. We go to Serbia a nation in a state of emergency ever since the assassination of its prime minister, Zoran Djindjic. Before his death Serbia had begun to fight organised crime, and it is the mob which is thought to be behind the killing. In the aftermath of the assassination, Serbia appears more determined that ever to take on crime and to follow the democratic path Djindjic began.
