In Nepal, children pay a high price when chosen to be a child Goddess. The Kumari, as they’re known, are worshipped by both Hindus and Buddhists. They are revered as a child, but when they become an adult they often suffer due to a lack of education and a normal family environment. We met some Kumaris, both past and present, to hear their stories of being a Child Goddess.
