As world leaders gather in Johannesburg for the Earth Summit we look at one African country that tried to please the West but appear not to have achieved any positive gains by doing so. Ghana’s story is a little different to other African nations. It’s been trying to please the West by working on some tough economic reforms. But twenty years later, it still has little to show for it. We went to Ghana to see whether playing by the West’s rules have any economic benefits.
