A huge conflict appears to be looming within Tibetan Buddhism. For more than half a century it has been lead by the Dalai Lama. Now in his late sixties, Tibetans are beginning to look towards the future. China has sought to appoint its own heirs to the Tibetan Buddhist throne. But as we discovered, the question of succession is also highlighting bitter divisions within the movement itself.
