The war on terrorism has focused attention on Islamic militant groups all over the world. In Asia, groups in Indonesia and the Philippines once boasted of links to Osama bin Laden, but now many - for their own survival - are trying to distance themselves from Al-Qaeda. We examine the Asian terrorist links in the Philippines and Indonesia. Osama bin Laden's relatives even helped to set up some of the groups.
