India: Toxic Tool 10 minutes, 2001 Ref: 142
We investigate claims of radioactive contamination near India's largest uranium mine and the abnormally high death rate among babies at birth. The mines allegedly emit radiation many times above the limits considered safe and thousands of poor and ignorant people are forced to eat, drink and breathe uranium. The mines are the sole source of uranium for India's 10 nuclear power stations. The birth of every child with a congenital deformity renews suspicion that the land is being poisoned by radioactive contamination.
