For hundreds of Thai children their only hope of survival is the sanctuary of a Buddhist temple in Chiang Mai. They have been abandoned by their parents, many of whom are in prison for drug offences. A handful of the children are former drug addicts. Life is harsh at the temple, with the children following a military routine and living in cramped conditions. But the abbot says he will produce strong adults who contribute to society.
