Indonesia: The Spite Islands 7 minutes, 2000 Ref: 123
A deterioration of law and order across Indonesia has led to long-standing tensions between Christians and Moslems surfacing in an orgy of church burning and revenge killings. In the Moluccas, or Spice Islands, more than 200 people have been killed. Once in the majority, Christians are now in the minority as a result of Moslem immigration from other parts of the archipelago. The newcomers now dominate local commerce and have made inroads into the police and civil service. We visit the Spice Islands.
