The terrible treatment of Czech & Slovak Gypsies is driving thousands of them to sell their belongings and head for a new life in the West. Dozens have arrived in Britain claiming political asylum and thousands have made the long journey to Canada. The reason for the exodus is a television programme that depicts Canada and Britain as the undiscovered lands of opportunity waiting to embrace them. But as this documentary shows, the exodus is mainly related to the terrible treatment of the Gypsies in their own country. We examine the issues first hand, speaking with the Gypsies and those they accuse of racism.
